Goldnova 2026: A Guide to the Ultimate Weekend 🎀

OMG, it’s almost here!

Supanova Gold Coast 2026 (aka Goldnova) is hitting the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre on April 11-12, 2026. If you’re anything like me, your heart is already racing thinking about the Exhibitors and the artists. But let’s be real—surviving a con weekend is an art form.

Whether you’re a hardcore cosplayer or a "blind box addict" (guilty!), here’s how to make Goldnova 2026 your best con yet.

🌟 Who’s Coming (and Who’s Not)

The guest list is looking absolutely stacked this year! We are so hyped to see Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things), Karl Urban (The Boys - Gold Coast exclusive!), and Bonnie Wright (Harry Potter).

However, a quick heads-up for your planning: Peach Momoko and Denise Richards have unfortunately had to cancel their appearances due to family and scheduling conflicts. It’s always a bummer when a fave can’t make it, but that just means more time to explore everything else that the weekend has to offer.

🚆 Getting There: The Translink Lowdown

If you’re thinking about driving, remember that parking at Broadbeach can be a total nightmare (and expensive!), so we'd recommend car pooling or bringing your friends to split the driving/parking costs.

Public transport: Plan ahead as Translink loves roadworks during the holidays.

Translink is running services all weekend though. While there are some track closures on other lines in April, the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines are expected to remain operational with a weekend timetable.

The G:link light rail could be your bestie —it stops right outside the Convention Centre. Just tap your Go Card or use contactless payment and you’re good.

👟 The "Pro-Collector" Survival Kit

Before we get into the loot, let’s talk comfort. You’re going to be on your feet for hours.

  • Comfy Shoes are Non-Negotiable: Even if your cosplay has 6-inch platforms, pack a pair of sneakers or slides in your bag. Your feet will thank you when you’re resting between panels!
  • Stay Hydrated: The GC heat + convention crowds = major thirst. Bring a reusable water bottle; there are refill stations around the venue.
  • The "Rest" Strategy: Don't be afraid to take a 20-minute "de-cosplay" break in a quiet corner to recharge.
  • Pro Tip: Always bring a portable charger. Your phone will die from taking too many cosplay photos, trust me!

Pre-Con Prep is Key ⚡

Don’t wait until you’re at the venue to realize you’re missing that one specific accessory. Us at Otaku-Taco, get busy shipping orders prior important cons with cosplayers purchasing the last accessories to complete their outfits or people buying their full outfits to rock on convention weekend from us.

Plus, if you spend over $99, you get Free Shipping, so you can save those extra dollars for the convention food (which we all know is pricey!).

The "Ita-Bag" Aesthetic 🎒

Bring a carry bag for any goodies that you may encounter along your walks.

A popular way for con goers to display their fandom are ITA BAGS.

The Gold Coast heat is no joke, so if you’re not in full armor, an Ita-bag is your best friend. Fans love decorating them with anime keychains and plush toys. It’s the perfect way to show off your style.

If your bag is looking a bit lonely, our Miffy Plush Keyrings are the ultimate "con-buddy" to clip on and go.

I hope this guide has been helpful and we'll love to see you at Otaku-Taco's Exhibitors booth at Goldnova!
